Terraces

The floor where summer happens

A terrace is chosen with bare feet and with the eye: the warmth of timber, the coolness of stone, the evenness of ceramic. We build all four families. And above all, we build them on foundations that will not move.

We work from southern Luxembourg up to Mersch.

The invisible part decides everything: excavation, compacted sub-base, falls for drainage, joists or screed depending on the surface. That is why our terraces are not distorted by the third winter. The material is chosen for its use, its aspect and the house, not for fashion.

Timber remains the material closest to us: boards of durable species, hidden fixings where they suit, and that silver patina that comes with the years. We show you from the start how it will age. Ceramic on pedestals gives clean large formats and minimal upkeep; concrete and tiles keep their place on masonry bases; composite is useful where maintenance has to be nil.

Around the terrace, we take care of the edges: stone kerbs, beds that anchor it in the garden, steps down to the lawn, built-in lighting if you want it. A good terrace is not a platform set down on a plot, it is a piece of the garden.

What this covers

  1. Timber terrace

Boards of durable species on ventilated joists. Warm, repairable, and beautiful as it ages.

  2. Concrete terrace

Slabs or poured concrete on a masonry base: plain, flat, all but everlasting.

  3. Ceramic & tiles

Ceramic slabs on pedestals or on screed: large formats, stable colour, minimal upkeep.

  4. Composite & PVC

For maintenance free use. We will tell you where it makes sense, and where real timber is better.

How it works

  1. The visit

We come and look at the ground, the aspect, the way out of the house and the level of the threshold. That is where the shape, the height and the direction of the boards are decided, and sometimes where the terrace is moved two metres.

  2. Choosing the material

Timber, ceramic, concrete or composite: we bring samples and tell you how each will age at your house. The material is chosen for its use and its aspect, not for fashion.

  3. The foundation

Excavation, geotextile, sub-base compacted in layers, falls directed towards the garden. This is the part nobody will ever see, and it is the part that decides everything.

  4. The laying

Ventilated joists on adjustable pedestals for timber, pedestals or screed for ceramic. Everything is set to a level, board by board, with the gap the timber needs to move.

  5. The finishing

Edges, steps, kerbs, the junction with the lawn or the beds, site cleaned. And the recessed lighting if it was planned before laying. Afterwards is too late.

The right season

We build from spring to autumn, outside frost and outside waterlogged ground: a foundation cannot be compacted in soil full of water. Spring remains the right time to order. The terrace is ready for summer, and the timber has time to take on its colour before the first meals outside.
